I am currently taking time away from building to write a book about my journey into dry-stone walling and all the places that has taken me since I began learning in 2009. The book will be published in spring 2018 by Little, Brown UK. US publication information to follow as it becomes available.
Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Washington, DC
In June I will be building a small dry-stone wall as part of the fence line for the Basque: Innovation by Culture program as part of the 2016 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. It will be on display from approximately June 25-July 15. Look for the wall on the north side of the mall, not far from the main entrance to the National Gallery of Art. I'm excited about this project since this brings me full-circle, right back to the place where I first learned what dry-stone walling is.
Along with my mentor Stuart Fry, I will be interviewed by Charlie Webber for the archives of the Smithsonian's Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
